The 2013 Police K-9 Trials, sponsored by the Salisbury Township Police Officers Association, will take place 9 a.m. Sept. 22 at Salisbury High School football field, 500 E. Montgomery St., Allentown.
Events include agility, call off, fastest dog, obedience and a special bonus event. There is an entry fee and all proceeds will be donated to The Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund and The Wounded Warrior Project.
Pagerly, a deputy sheriff and canine handler with the Berk's County Sheriff's Department, was tragically killed June 29, 2011, in the line of duty while serving a warrant in Albany Township, Berks County.
The first K-9 Trial event featured more than 40 K-9 handlers and raised over $6,000. The next year, more than $5,000 was raised for The Kyle Pagerly Memorial Fund as well as the Fox Children's Fund to support the family of Brad Fox, a K-9 officer killed in the line of duty Sept. 13, 2012.
