Reigning National American Miss Pennsylvania donates supplies to Schnecksville Elementary

Paige Hardenberg, a second grader at Schnecksville Elementary School, recently earned the prestigious titled of 2013 National American Miss Pennsylvania.

Hardenberg, who was also crowned Pennsylvania Cover Girl, recently visited Schnecksville Elementary School because staff members Pam Stettler, Susan Fegley, Holly Ivory and Laurel Young gave Paige donations to support her for the 2013 NAM pageant.

Since they showed their support, Paige wanted to give back to the school.

Ten percent of each girl's score at the pageant is community involvement and the contestants make a themed donation.

This year, the theme was books and school supplies.

The newly crowned queen from each age group then takes some of those donations back to her local community.

After separating the supplies, Paige ended up with 24 full boxes of supplies.

She donated eight boxes to the Pediatric Cancer Foundation; one box of new books to a local daycare, one box to be delivered to the local library, and 14 boxes to Schnecks-ville Elementary.

The boxes included, new notebooks, pencils, markers, glue, binders, pens and other school supplies for students and teachers.

Paige's next step is to compete in November in nationals at Anaheim, Calif.
