Police Academy

The Upper Macungie Township Police Department is accepting applications for its Community Police Academy 7-9 p.m. Tuesdays Oct. 1 through Nov. 12.

Adult participants to get a behind-the-scenes look at police work through the eyes of officers who perform their duties on a daily basis.

Students will learn about SWAT, K-9, drug and criminal investigations,and more.

Applicants must be 18 years of age and older.

The majority of the courses will be held at the police department headquarters, 37 Grim Road, Breinigsville.

There will be one Saturday class.

All applications must be returned by Sept. 29. The class is limited to 30 students.

Applications will be excepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

Upper Macungie residents will have first priority seating, however the class is open to all Pennsylvania residents.
