Carl Strohl, 87, of Glendale, Ariz., and formerly of Northampton, died Aug. 8, 2013, in his home.

He was a son of the late Hannah (Dilliard) Strohl and the late George Strohl.

He was a Northampton High School graduate.

He worked at PPL, Allentown, while living in Northampton. After moving to Glendale, he was employed by the Salt River Project for 25 years before retiring.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Glendale, Ariz.

He is survived by a daughter, Claudia Richey of Buckeye, Ariz.; a son, Curtis and his companion Jack of Richmond Hills, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Rochelle and Steven Nickolas; two great-grandchildren, five sisters, Shirley and her husband John Eberhardt, Emma and her husband of Neil Hartzell, Ferne Pletchan, Nancy and her husband of William Birosik and Janet Hagenbuch; a brother, Robert and his wife Jean; nieces; and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, George and Erwin.
