Susan Ross Chassard, 49, of Allentown, formerly of Emmaus, died Sept. 6, 2013. She was the wife of John A. Chassard. Born in Allentown, she was the daughter of Harry P. and Marian E. (Miller) Ross of Lancaster.

She was a 1981 graduate of Emmaus High School.

She continued her studies at Lehigh County Community College, graduating in 1983 with a degree from the dental hygienist program. After graduation, she was an orthodontic assistant for more than 10 years at several orthodontic practices in the Lehigh Valley.

She attended Bethany United Methodist Church, Allentown and had volunteered in their pre-school and participated in the Mothers of Pre-school program. She had served as director of the meal ministry program at the church.

She participated in the Trident Swim Club and the former Meadow Pool Swim Club.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by a son and a daughter, Luke A. and Madaket R.; a brother, Michael D. and his wife Kelli Ross of Palmyra; two sisters, Barbara J. Schuler, of Allentown and Diane R. and her husband Jeffrey Godwin, of Buckhannon, W.Va.; nephews; and nieces.

She was predeceased by a sister, Sandra M. Lopez.

A celebration of life will be held 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in Bethany United Methodist Church, 1208 Brookside Road, Allentown, 18106. Calling hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 13 and 9:30 to 11 a.m. Sept. 14 in the church.

Contributions may be made to Bethany United Methodist Church general fund.
