Elisabeth Kienle-Smith, 83, of Macungie, formerly of New London, Conn., died Sept. 2, 2013, in her home. She was the wife of Eric W. Smith for 14 years. Born in Schweinfurt, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Luitpold and Elsa (Schuster) Kienle.

She was employed as the manager of the Thames Club in New London, Conn., for more than 25 years, retiring in 1999.

She was a member of the Garden Club in Emmaus and New London.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Ralph E. and his wife Donna Schleicher of Schnecksville and Lore A. and her husband James Ross of Zionsville; six siblings, Tassilo, Tilman and Wolfram Kienle, Ruth Polzler, Gertie Griffen and Erica Skinner; and five grandchildren, Christina Acerra, Scott and Ian Ross, and Matthew and Alexander Schleicher.
