Barry W. Barto

Barry W. Barto, 69, of Emmaus, died Sept. 8, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice. He was the husband of Donna P. (Weaver) Barto for 46 years. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Wayne W. and May (Eck) Barto.

He graduated from Emmaus High School and Dickinson College.

He was an independent furniture representative for many years serving territories throughout the Northeast.

He was a member of St. John's U.C.C. Church, Emmaus.

He volunteered with the Emmaus Ambulance Corps for 20 years. He served as the mayor of Emmaus from 1994 to 1997.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Brian B. and his wife Allison of West Chester and Brett B. and his companion Kimberly Scola, of Thornton; a sister, Bonnie M. and her husband Robert Burdette, of Emmaus; a sister-in-law, Joanne C. Evans, of Emmaus; and two nephews, Jason and his wife Ashley Burdette, of Houston, Texas and Bradley and his wife Kristen Burdette, of Bala Cynwyd.

Memorial services will be held 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at St. John's U.C.C. Church, 139 N. Fourth St., Emmaus.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 3893 Adler Place, Suite 170, Bethlehem, 18017, or to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund, 225 City Ave., Ste. 104, Bala Cynwyd, 19004.
