John J. Best, 85, of Trexlertown, died Aug. 31, 2013. He was the husband of Arlene M. (Getz) Best.

Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late William E. and Erma E. (Andrews) Best.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He was employed at the Bethlehem Steel for 38 years retiring in 1985.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John J. Jr.; six stepchildren, Cheryl, Jeanette, Billy, Kenneth, Randy and Christina; and 10 step-grandchildren.
