Margaret A. Dugan, 76, of Lower Macungie, died Aug. 25, 2013, in her home, surrounded by family. She was the wife of John E. Dugan Sr. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary in July. Born in Sioux City, Iowa, she was a daughter of the late John and Dorothy (McArthur) Nice.

She was a 1955 graduate of Benson High School, Omaha, Neb. and was employed as an administrative assistant in the Allentown School District prior to retiring in 1991. Previously, she was employed as an associate at Hess Brothers.

She was a member of Cathedral of Saint Catharine of Siena and enjoyed camping and bingo.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Bryan S., of Alburtis, Timothy B., of Whitehall; daughters, Molly J. Pfingstl, of Allentown, Katie Oswald, of Friendsville, and Colleen M. Schwenger, of Palmerton; brother, William, of Omaha; sisters, Kitty Hayes, of Indiana, Judy Foster, of Nebraska; 14 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; canine companion, Miss O'Riley. She was predeceased by sons, John E. Jr. and Patrick J.

Services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday in Stephens Funeral Home Inc., 1335-37 W. Linden St., Allentown. Call 1 p.m. until service time.
