The Moravian Book Shop presented a day long "Celebrate Steel" event June 29, which offered films, photos, books, discussions and tour information about Bethlehem Steel and the former Bethlehem Plant; and, presented the authors, photographers, artists and historians who have planned, published and compiled them in a day-long session.

Many who attended were former Bethlehem Steel workers, which set off informal discussions and reminiscing of the days when steel was king in the City of Bethlehem.

Organizations such as the National Museum of industrial History and the Steelworkers' Archives also displayed artifacts from Bethlehem Steel and sought to make connections for obtaining oral histories from former Bethlehem Steel workers. Moravian Book Shop event coordinator Kristy Houston called the turnout "excellent."

"It's like a reunion for a lot of people," added Houston.

Authors and photographers were available throughout the day to sign their works.
