Richard Arthur Carson, 80, of Macungie, died Aug. 1, 2013, in Cedarbrook Nursing Home, Allentown. He was the husband of Lillian H. (Andersen) Carson for 57 years. Born in Jamaica, N.Y., he was the son of the late William Arthur and Harriet May (Kolb) Carson.
He was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War.
He had worked for 40 years for Best Foods in New Jersey, retiring in 1995 as the national training manager. Previously he was employed as a manager for Bohack Supermarkets in Long Island, N.Y.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus.
He was co-director for the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church Fife and Drum Corps, Long Island, N.Y. He was a volunteer for the Allentown Food Bank. He was an avid model train collector and operator.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children, Linda S. and her husband Troy Rosasco, of St. James, Long Island, N.Y., Christopher S. and his wife Lynn, of Blandon and Mark A. and his wife Marybeth, of Stroudsburg; and five grandchildren, Dema, Nathan, Matthew, Arielle and Gregory.
He was predeceased by a grandson, Andrew C.
