Howard E. Hattal, 92, of Wescos-ville, died Aug. 13, 2013, in his home. He was the husband of Yvonne T. (Thomas) Hattal. They were married for 62 years. Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Russell C. and Susan (Schultz) Hattal.

He served in the U.S. Navy as a Navy SEAL in the South Pacific during World War II.

He was assistant to the vice president of operations at the Bethlehem Steel at the time of his retirement. He was employed at Bethlehem Steel for 30 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of the American Iron and Steel Institute.

He was an Eagle Scout.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Tacey of Wescosville.

Services are private. Arrangements were made by the Trexler Funeral Home, Allentown.
