Frank G. Cella
Frank G. Cella, 84, of Macungie, died Aug. 2, 2013, at Lehigh Center. He was the husband of Jane (Buckholtz) Cella. They were married for 57 years. Born in West Pittston, he was the son of the late Pasquale and Mary (Oliveri) Cella; the youngest of nine siblings.
He was a Sergeant in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, Korean Service Medal with Bronze Star and the Korean War Medal.
He was a graduate of Muhlenberg College and served on their Board of Trustees for nine years.
He retired as the senior vice president of personnel from Chrysler First in 1992 after 38 years of employment.
He was an active member of The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit for 43 years.
Throughout his career, he was involved with various organizations including: Rotary, Dale Carnegie, Community Music School, United Way, Boy Scouts of America, Allentown Literacy Council and Channel 39.
He continued to work as a business consultant during retirement and had a great passion for helping people.
He loved playing his Lowrey organ, playing golf and spoiling his cats, Sallyann and Satchelann.
He is survived by his wife; children, Reta J. and her husband Ric Geld of Macungie, Lisa A. and her husband Richard Galutia of York, Jeffrey A. and his wife Donna, of Emmaus, William F. of Allentown, and Matthew J. and his fiancee, Marisa Biever of Sanford, Fla.; grandchildren, Jonathan and Raina Geld, Nicholas and Alexander Galutia and Lauren; sister, Josephine Fetch of Exeter; nieces and nephews.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit for the benefit of the All Are Welcome Fund.
A Celebration of Life Service and reception will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at at The Lutheran Church of the Holy Spirit, 3461 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Emmaus, 18049. Please RSVP to TributeForFrank@gmail.com.
