Charlotte A. Peterson, 82, of Emmaus, died Aug. 16, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Gilbert E. Peterson. They were married for over 50 years. Born in Danville, Va., she was the daughter of the late William M. and Mary Jane (Bethel) Brown.
She worked for the former PET Frozen Foods and General Mills, retiring in the 1990s. She also worked for Scott Paper Co., in Chester, Delaware County, where she met her husband. She previously was an aide at the Swain School.
She was a member of St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Emmaus, serving on the vestry, altar guild and was a member of the choir.
She was a member of the Green Circle, an assistant Girl Scout troop leader, avid gardener and enjoyed cooking and sewing.
She is survived by a son, Norman E. of Philadelphia; daughters, Rev. Iris E. of Danbury, Conn. and Dr. April L. of Emmaus; brother, Edward Brown of Danville, Va.; sisters, Hazel Adams of Danville, Va. Clara Bowe of Berlin, N.J., and Anita Boyd of Danville, Va.; many nieces, nephews, in-laws, relatives, neighbors and friends. She was predeceased by brothers William, Curtis and Freddie Brown.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 in St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, Keystone Avenue and Elm Street, Emmaus. Viewing 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the church. The Schantz Funeral Home, P.C., Emmaus, is handling arrangements.
