William J. Marks III, 53, of Coplay and Northampton, died July 23, 2013, at home.

Born in Allentown, he was a son of B. Mae (Butz) Marks and William J. Marks II, both of Whitehall.

He was a 1978 graduate of Whitehall High School.

He was the owner of Bill Marks Roofing and Siding since 1982. He was an amateur and professional boxer, having fought out of Ring 23, Allentown.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his life partner, Shelly L. (Salway), of Northampton, with whom he resided; a son, William J. IV and his wife Amie (Atiyeh), of Northampton; two daughters, Brooke and her husband Dennis Corby, of Palmerton, and Brandy and her husband Brian Wetterman, of Waco, Texas; five grandchildren, William V, James, Olivia, Lydia and Brynn; a brother, David and his wife Rebecca, of Shamokin; a sister, Karyl and her fiancé Gregory Hoyer, of Enola; and nieces and nephews and their families.
