John L. Simon Sr., 82, of Northampton, died July 13, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. He was the husband of Betty L. (Robinson) Simon for 59 years.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John and Theresa (Dogmanits) Simon.

He was in the United States Army.

He retired from the Western Electric Company after 42 years of service.

He was a member of Queenship of Mary Church, Northampton.

He was active with bowling leagues at the former St. Joseph Sick and Beneficial Society, Northampton.

He is survived by six children, John L. Jr. and his wife Beverly of Chicago, Ill., Linda M. and her husband Timothy Ambrogi, of New Jersey, Jeffrey L., of Allentown, Robert M., of Indiana, Thomas A. and his wife Lisa, of Nazareth, and Judi M. and her husband John Andronis, of Wescoesville; six grandchildren, Lindsey, Kelley, Andrea, Chandler, Nicholas and Elizabeth; two step grandchildren, Zachary and Kameryn; a sister, Mary Miletics, of Northampton; nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Louis, Stephen and Joseph; and a sister, Hermina Verbelyi.
