George T. Roeder, 82, of Allentown, died July 17, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital. He was the faithful spouse of Jane (Yoachim) Roeder. They were married for 58 years. Born in Hosensack, he was the son of the late David and Anna (Holben) Roeder.
He was a delivery driver of specialty fuels for various companies including NASA, Air Products, Matlack and Myers Men.
He served with honor in the Army as a combat engineer durimg the Korea conflict.
A former 4H and Boy Scout leader, he was especially proud of his three sons achieving the rank of Eagle.
He was a member of Allentown and Macungie VFW, Disabled Vets, American Legion of Willis, Texas, and the Fraternal Order of Police Association, Old Time Plow Boys and German heritage society.
He enjoyed traveling in the motor home with the infamous McDonald cups, and always said he had three families: Loving family, church family and a camping family.
He is survived by his wife; sons, John David of Parryville, William P. of Rockledge, Fla., Russel A. and his wife, Darlen, of Auburn; grandchildren, Jason, Jami, Jeremiah, Elijah and Isiah; great-grandchildren, Kaitlynne, Trey, Joycelynn, Victoria, Jason Jr., and Adien; sisters, Caroline Reifienger of Zionsville, Irene and her husband Carl Jarett, of Ocola, Fla.; sister-in-law, Pamela of Zionsville. He was predeceased by brothers, John, Elwood, Jeremiah; sister, Elizabeth; daughter-in-law, Debra.
Contributions may be made to the disabled fund at Jerusalem Western Salisbury Church, 3441 Devonshire Rd., Allentown.
