Edna S. Villegas, NCC assistant professor

Edna S. Villegas, 52, of Bethlehem, died July 17, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. Born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, she was a daughter of Adrian and Ramonita (Almodovar) Garcia. She was the wife of Gilberto Villegas for more than 24 years.

She was an assistant professor and an advisor for New Choices at Northampton Community College.

She was a founder, member and choreographer for the Puerto Rican folkloric group "Mensajeros del Coqui".

In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by two children, Luis Gilberto and Gabriela; 10 brothers and sisters, Anselmo, Carmen, Ramonita, Ramon, Trinidad, Raul, Elvin, The Rev. Angel L. Garcia, Militza and Maria; nephews and nieces.

She was predeceased by a brother, Adrian Jr.

Contributions may be made to Morgan Stanley towards a scholarship fund for her daughter Gabriela; mail to the funeral home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
