Argument reported

Coplay Police on Friday reported responding to a North Third Street residence for a call about a dispute between a mother and daughter.

Police said the mother and girl were arguing over a dollar bill taken from her daughter's room by a younger sister.

Police said they were able to to diffuse the situation between the two.

Assault reported

Coplay Police said on Monday they are continuing an investigation into an incident that occurred July 16.

A resident of the unit block of South Second Street told police he was assaulted in the Giant Food lot. The man said he drove his vehicle into the market's parking lot and started a conversation with someone he knew, police said.

During the conversation, the other man became upset and punched Mack in the face, police said.

The assailant then left the lot. The man who filed the report said he was not injured and declined service from an EMS unit, police said.

Police respond to pre-dawn call

A report of suspicious activity July 16 at 4:31 a.m. brought police to the unit block of North Fifth Street.

The caller informed officers an individual exited a dark colored Subaru and was approaching homes.

A patrol officer said they located the individual, who turned out to be a newspaper carrier.
