Dolores E. Simmons

Dolores E. Simmons, 82, of East Greenville, died July 19, 2013. She was the beloved wife of Robert W. Simmons. They were married for 62 years this past March. Born in Erie, she was a daughter of the late Warren and Esther (Geiger) Neimeyer.

Early in life, she was a mender for the former Stouffer's Hosiery in Emmaus. Following that, she was a polisher for the former Plummer Precision Optics, Pennsburg.

She was a member of the Hosensack E.C. Church.

She was a life member of the East Greenville Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, a 50 plus year member of the Auxiliary of the American Legion, Post #184, Palm; a member of the Upper Perkiomen Senior Citizens Center and the Golden Agers. She was an artist who enjoyed painting and quilting.

She is survived by her husband; children, Carl and his wife, Diane, of Boyertown; Roberta, of East Greenville, siblings, Myrtle Rose of Latrobe; Leon Neimeyer, of Mertztown, Lois Althouse, of Emmaus; Ronald Neimeyer, and his wife, Dolores, of Allentown; half-brother, Roger Flexer and his wife Lena, of Sherman, Texas; grandchildren, Stacy and her husband Josh Schmale and Kyle. She was predeceased by a daughter, Janet; brothers, Ernest and Dale; half-sister, Janice Velaquez.
