Victor J. Yanega, electrical engineer

Victor J. Yanega, 81, died July 11, 2013, at his home in Bethlehem. Born inLansford, he was a son of the late Victor J. and Anna Yanega. He was the husband of Patricia (Keenan) Yanega for 56 years.

He was a graduate of Lansford High School and of Drexel University.

He was in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War.

He was an electrical engineer with Western Electric, AT&T and Lucent from which he retired after a 35 year career.

He was a parishioner of Notre Dame of Bethlehem Catholic Church.

He was a member of the Stafore Men's Golf Group.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Victor and his wife Leah of Anacortes, Wash., Joseph B. and his wife Linda of Bethlehem and Timothy and his wife Jane of Center Valley; six grandchildren, Joshua, Allyson, Sarah, Andrew, Macy and Zoe; a sister, Jane Kracom of Tresckow; and a brother, Robert and his wife Judy of Zionsville.

He was predeceased by a brother, William.
