Univest Corp. breaks ground for $2 million office building

Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania executives and employees recently held a groundbreaking ceremony to announce construction of its new 10,000-square-foot office building in South Whitehall Township.

The $2 million structure will be in Tilghman Square Shopping Center, 4680 Broadway Road.

Access to the building will be from Cetronia Road.

Univest plans to relocate 31 of its current employees in Allentown and Fogelsville to the building, which will have space to add 20 additional employees.

Univest, headquartered in Souderton, Montgomery County, has been serving customers since 1876.

Larken Associates, Hillsborough, N.J., has been chosen as general contractor for the building, expected to be completed by December.

Joining Univest executives and employees at the groundbreaking ceremony were Ellen Kern, representing state Sen. Pat Browne, R-16th, Lehigh County Commissioner Dr. Percy H. Dougherty, South Whitehall Township Manager Jon Hammer and Commissioners Tori Morgan and Glenn Block.
