Barbara Diane Steager, Lt. U.S.Navy, Retired, 54, of Bethlehem, died July 10, 2013, at St.Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. Born in Bethlehem, she a daughter of Richard and Mary (Leszcynski) Steager.

She was a 1977 Liberty High School graduate. She earned a bachelor's of science degree in Nursing from West Chester University.

She was a nurse at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and then at AI Dupont Hospital, Del.

She was active with Native American groups. She volunteed at the Tri-State Bird Sanctuary, Del. She was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, OLPH Fellowship Club, Crimson Hatter Cruiser and the Red Hat Society.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother, Richard C. Jr. and his wife Louise; a niece, Melissa and her husband Scott Penn; two nephews, Jacob and Tyler Steager; an uncle, John Leszcynski; and several cousins.
