Daniel L. Brown, 86, of Allentown, died June 22, 2013, at the Phoebe Home, Allentown. Born in Mauch Chunk, he was a son of the late Arthur and Irene (Kemmerle) Brown. He was the husband of Claire (Dunstan) Brown for 62 years.

He was in both the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army

He was a police officer in Freemansburg and in Newport News, Va. He was an oil burner mechanic for Bethlehem Area School District for many years.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Allentown.

He was a 32nd Degree member of H. Stanley Goodwin Lodge #348 of Free and Accepted Masons. He was a past master of the Minsi Lodge.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Virginia and her husband Bob Heller of Bath; a son, Lester Brown of Allentown; two sisters, Evelyn Nestor of Virginia Beach, Va. and Marcia Brown of Bethlehem; a brother, Charles L. Brown of Lawrenceville, N.J.; and a granddaughter, Nicole Brown of Northampton.

He was predeceased by three brothers, three sisters; and a grandson, Thomas M. Romig.

Arrangements were made by Long Funeral Home Inc., Bethlehem.
