George G. Sevart Jr., 78, of Mac-ungie, formerly of Allentown, died July 5, 2013, at Lehigh Commons, Macungie. He was the husband of Ruth (New) Sevart of Macungie. They celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary in June. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late George G. Sr. and Bessie M. (Umberger) Sevart.

He was a long-time member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Allentown, where he was a member of the Henritzy class, a class officer and served on the church's board of trustees.

He retired as a head custodian from the Allentown School District. Prior to that he worked for over 18 years as an apprentice coordinator at the Bethehem Steel Co. He also worked at the Allentown Hospital in the credit department.

He was an Army veteran and a Mason with the F&AM #813 Lehigh Valley Day Lodge.

He was a graduate of Grove City College.

He is survived by his wife; daughter, Deborah and her husband Alan Giancaterino; son Scott and his wife Marta; daughter, Beverly and her husband Christian Malinowski; daughter Beth; grandchildren, AnnaLia, Pierce, Camerone, Eric, Kenneth, Anthony, Jolie and Alyson.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Asbury Food Ministry Care of the church.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 13, at Asbury United Methodist Church, 1533 Springhouse Road, Allentown, 18104. There will be a calling period 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the parlor of the church. Arrangements were made by the Brubaker Funeral Home Inc., Catasauqua.
