James A. Gartner, 68, of Allentown, died June 22, 2013. He was the husband of the late Ruth Cheryl (Garis) Gartner.

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late Anthony and Hedy (Hocht) Gartner.

He was in the U.S. Navy.

He worked for the Salvation Army, Allentown, until retirement.

He is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Leibenguth, at home, and Kristel Gartner of McAdoo; a sister, Constance and her husband Donald Davis; a brother, Richard O. and his wife Mary Gartner of Coplay; and three grand-children.
