Peter Wengryn, St. Josaphat's Church member

Peter Wengryn, 90, of East Allen Township, died June 12, 2013, at his residence. Born in Alden, he was a son of the late Stephen and Anna Wengryn. He was the husband of Helen (Waypa) Wengryn for 64 years.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 717th Tank Battalion of the 79th Infantry Division.

He worked for Western Electric as a tool and dye inspector and machinist and retired in 1978 after 35 years of service.

He was a parishioner at and a volunteer of St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Byzantine Rite, Bethlehem.

He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the American Legion, Hellertown Ackerman Post.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Stephen and his wife Kathleen of Orefield; a daughter, Irene and her husband Alan Bosch of Bethlehem; and four grandchildren, David, Mark, Jamie and Randi.
