Matthew Koch, 95, of Whitehall, died May 24, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of the late Theresa (Groller) Koch for 66 years.

Born in Nagy Ganna, Hungary, he was a son of the late Joseph and Anna (Hart) Koch.

He was a U.S. Army sergeant and a World War II veteran, and was awarded a sliver star.

He was a meat cutter for Acme stores.

He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Coplay.

He was a life member of the Coplay Saengerbund.

He is survived by two sons, John and his wife Charmaine of Coplay and Joseph of Whitehall; a daughter, Anna-Marie of Whitehall; and four grandchildren, Jonathon, Daniel, Theresa Anne and Mary Jo.

He was predeceased by a son, John; two brothers, Joseph and Frank; and four sisters, Anna, Gertrude, Elizabeth and Vera.
