Lawrence R. Erney, 96, of Emmaus, died May 30, 2013, in his home. Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Robert and Jennie (Jacoby) Erney.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Emmaus, where he was the treasurer of the Sunday school program for nearly 60 years.

He was an Army veteran serving during World War II and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7088 and the American Legion, both in Emmaus.

He was a charter member of the Flag Day Association in Emmaus and was a member of the Emmaus Historical Society.

He was employed as a welder for Mack Trucks for many years until his retirement. Previously he worked for the pajama factory in Emmaus.
