Dolores P. Danner, 81, of Salisbury Township, died June 3, 2013, in her home. She was the wife of John T. Danner Sr. The couple would have celebrated 60 years of marriage Aug. 31. Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Irwin Sr. and Ruth (Jacobs) Bartholomew.
She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Paul's R.C. Church, Allentown.
She was a retail clerk at many local pharmacies and department stores for the past 30 years until retiring in 2009.
She was a former president of the American Legion Post 406, Ladies Auxiliary in Fountain Hill.
An avid bowler, she was a former secretary and treasurer of various local leagues. She was also a diehard Phillies and Eagles fan.
She is survived by her husband; son, John Jr. and his wife Ginny of Hellertown; daughters, Joan M. and her husband Jeff Stauffer of Salisbury Township, Deborah Grim of Slatington, Denise and her husband Dave Simon, and Ruth Ann Houser, both of Allentown; brother, Irwin "Bart" Bartholomew Jr. and his wife Jackie of Broadheadsville; sisters, Barbara and her husband Frank Nickles and Ruth Bealer, both of Bethlehem; grandchildren, Eric Stauffer, Danny Simon, Chris Harmony, Jessica, Melissa Grim; 11 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother, Donald Bartholomew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, June 6, St. Paul's Catholic Church, 2nd and Susquehanna streets. Viewing in the church vestibule 10 a.m. until time of the Mass. The K.V. Knopp Funeral Home, Allentown, is in charge of arrangements.
