"Altogether ooky": The 2013-2014 National Tour of the musical, "The Addams Family," above, based on the bizarre and beloved family of characters created by legendary cartoonist Charles Addams, comes to the State Theatre for the Arts, 453 Northampton St., Easton, for two shows, 7 p.m. June 10 and 11. "The Addams Family" began performances in March 2010 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre and ran through December 2011. The show has a book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice, and music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa. The production is directed by Jerry Zaks with choreography by Sergio Trujillo. Addams created several thousand cartoons, sketches and drawings, many of which were published in The New Yorker magazine. The Addams Family cartoons also inspired "The Addams Family" TV show (1964 -1966) and a feature movie (1991). Tickets: statetheatre.org, 610-252-3132

Get into the act: Cedar Crest College, Allentown, is offering the opportunity for 50 students to learn how to take a TV, film, or stage production from conception to completion. You'll learn how to do it not only under the tutelage of Cedar Crest Assistant Professor Kevin Gallagher and Kutztown University Professor James Ogden, but by three Hollywood professionals: actors Dan Lauria ("The Wonder Years"), Kate Vernon ("Battlestar Gallactica"), above, and writer-actor-director Frank Megna ("The Seekers").

Improv tonight: Fresh from a performance in New York City is "Long-Form Improv Comedy: Mandudebro's Exploding Dinosaur Pillow Fight Hour," 11:15 p.m. June 7, Blue Cinema, ArtsQuest Center, SteelStacks, 101 Founder's Way, Bethlehem. Mandudebro, above, a Lehigh Valley based improv comedy team, performed the show, "Who's Your Daddy?," at the second annual "Unscripted New York Improvised Theatre & Film Festival" May 30 in Manhattan. "We're really excited to bring our show to the festival and represent the amazing comedy scene that we have here in the Lehigh Valley," said Jon Lunger of Mandudebro.
