The Northampton Municipal Pool opens for the summer this Saturday, June 1 at noon.

This week's opening is a week later than previous years when the Laubach Avenue pool opened Memorial Day weekend. It will close for the season Aug. 17.

The pool will be open seven days a week. However, it will close Thursday, June 6, for a Siegfried school event.

During the season, at least one dance party with a deejay is expected to be held.

Public works personnel have made improvements to the changing rooms and restrooms and painted the pool walls and floor.

Season passes are on sale at the Northampton Recreation Center.
