Mary G. Apgar, 85, of Emmaus, died May 23, 2013, in Westminster Village Nursing Home, Allentown. She was the wife of Clark F. Apgar. They celebrated 59 years of marriage. Born in East Mauch Chunk, now Jim Thorpe, she was the daughter of the late Matthew J. and Gertrude (Sheridan) Tobin.
She was a devote Roman Catholic and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, Emmaus.
She was a graduate of Drake College and Jim Thorpe High School.
She was a bookkeeper, having worked for Apgar Oil Co., Sterns & Co. and New Jersey Central Railroad over the course of her career.
She was a past-president of the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and the YMCA Chante Club, both in Allentown.
Although afflicted with MS for many years, she always had a smile for everyone, especially her husband, who for 47 years was her devoted caregiver. Her greatest joy was the family vacations in Stone Harbor, N.J.
She is survived by her husband; daughter, Jane and her husband Stephen Domitrowits; son, James and his wife Andrea (Rossanesse), all of Emmaus; grandchildren, Jan and her husband Mike Curtis, Scott Domitrowits, Lauren and Jamie. She was predeceased by a sister, Hannah Buttles; brother, John Tobin.
