Along with other churches around the world, Faith Lutheran Church, 3355 MacArthur Road, celebrated the Day of Pentecost Sunday, May 19.

As a special part of this celebration, eight young people became members of the church through the Rite of Affirmation of Baptism: Confirmation.

These young people are Zachary J. Gilbert, Samantha A. Grim, Johnny S. Johnson, Jr., Abby M. Moyer, Tamara A. Peddigree, Lauren E. Peters, Jake T. Riegel and Calista C. Trotter.

A Memorial Day weekend service, sponsored jointly by Faith Lutheran, St. John's United Church of Christ (Mickleys) and the Hokendauqua American Legion Post, is scheduled for Sunday, May 26.

The service begins at 9:30 a.m. in the sanctuary of St John's, located at the corner of MacArthur and Eberhart Road.

All are invited as we remember those who gave their lives so that you and I might enjoy our freedoms.

Bring your children and grandchildren so that they will begin to know that Memorial Day is more than a long weekend break from school.
