Jake Hammond unchallenged in bid for re-election to bench

Magisterial District Judge Jake E. Hammond is running unopposed for his seat in District 31-2-02, which encompasses North and South Whitehall townships.

Hammond, a resident of North Whitehall Township, previously worked as an Allentown Police Officer and for the Lehigh County Sheriff's Department.

He graduated from Parkland High School in 1986 and Lehigh County Community College in 1989, where he earned an associate degree in criminal justice, and certifications in law enforcement and in corrections.

In June 2009, Hammond was certified for service as a member of Pennsylvania's Unified Judicial System after successful completion of continuing legal education course work.

He served as an assistant coach for North Parkland football, and for Schnecksville baseball and softball teams.

Hammond and his wife, Jen, are the parents of two children. They are members of Neffs Lutheran Church.
