Berks County Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting a Children's Fishing Rodeo at Hunsicker's Grove, 9350 Longswamp Road, Mertztown.

Children from ages 4-15 can learn the sport of fishing 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. May 11.

Fishing times are by age group: 4- to 5-year-olds fish 8:30-9:15 a.m.; the 6- to 7-year olds fish from 9:25-10:10 a.m., 8- to 10-year-olds fish between 10:20-11:20 a.m. and the 11- to 15-year-olds fish from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Participants must be registered a half-hour before their age group is scheduled to fish.

Children will enjoy the special program, "WOW! Wonders of Watersheds."

Jennifer Brooks, environmental educator, will explore what impacts the health of watersheds and investigate ways how to protect water quality.

Activities also include: fly-tying demos by the Berks Fly-tyers Club, casting for prizes, crafts and more.

Refreshments will be available. Admission is free but there will be a parking donation taken.
