Police called about note on door

Coplay Police were called shortly before 1 a.m. May 2 to a residence in the unit block of South Second Street.

The caller told police a note had been glued to the back door of her apartment.

It was not known when the note was placed on the door, but the resident said she believes the note was put there by her ex-boyfriend, police said.

Police did not disclose the content of the note.

Alarm sounds

Police were dispatched Saturday morning to a warehouse at 114 Coplay St.

On arrival, police spoke with people on the scene who stated the alarm was set off by accident.

Patrol officers said everything at the scene appeared secure. The area was later cleared, police said.

Motorist cited

A two-vehicle crash April 30 brought Coplay police to Ninth and Chestnut streets.

Police said Laura Carr, of Lehighton, was operating a 2005 Chrysler Sebring and was stopped on North Ninth at Chestnut.

Carr told police she did yield to traffic before pulling out from the stop sign before her vehicle collided with a 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier operated by Zachary Klotz of Coplay, who was traveling eastbound on Chestnut Street.

Police cited Carr for a stop sign violation.
