The Liederkranz will be selling hot dogs and refreshments during the Spring Thaw Rendezvous, set for Saturday, May 4, at Municipal Park, Smith Lane and Laubach Avenue.

A hot dog-eating contest will begin at 3:30 p.m. There is an entry fee. Cash prizes will be awarded.

Later that evening, the Liederkranz will hold a Cinco de Mayo celebration. The fun begins at 5 p.m. at the club, 402 E. Ninth St.

Entertainment by a deejay is set to start at 9 p.m.

Good Shepherd Catholic School will hold its second annual golf outing Saturday, May 11, at Willowbrook Golf Course in Catasauqua.

The tournament, which begins at 8 a.m., is a shotgun-start, scramble format. The cost includes cart and green fees, continental breakfast, refreshments on the course, lunch and awards.

Proceeds will help to purchase new front doors and a new security system for the school.

The Friends of the Northampton Area Public Library are sponsoring a chartered bus trip to Adventure Aquarium, Camden, N.J., on Friday, June 21.

The bus will depart promptly at 8 a.m. from the Northampton Recreation Center, 1 Lerchenmiller Drive, and will arrive back at approximately 6 p.m.

This trip is open to everyone. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, May 23.

The cost includes transportation and admission to both the aquarium and the 3-D movie.
