·May 3: Ironton Elementary School Pet Show, 1:45 p.m. Rain date is May 9.

·May 3: Kernsville Elementary Fourth grade oral biographies, 2:15 p.m. Teacher Joan Krem will invite parents in for oral presentations as her students dress up as famous people from the southwestern U.S.

·May 3: Kratzer Elementary Country Fair, 4-8 p.m. Games, crafts, rides, live entertainment, raffles, cake walk and lots of family fun.

·May 6: Parkland School District Education Foundation second annual Masquerade Gala and Silent Auction. More than 425 guests will enjoy performances by the high school Jazz Ensemble, Serenata Strolling Strings, and the cast of Phantom of the Opera as they recognize six alumni who will be inducted into Parkland High School's Distinguished Alumni Wall of Honor.
