Nora C. "Kitty" Hayes, 88, of Macungie, died April 24, 2013, in the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. She was the wife of the late John F. "Jack" Hayes. Born in Bronx, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late John Matthew Murray and Mary Ellen (Mullarkey) Murray. She worked in accounting as a young woman, but spent most of her life caring for her home and family.

She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Allentown. She was a member of the Prime Time Club. She had a special devotion to the Blessed Mother and traveled the world visiting sites where the Blessed Virgin is believed to have appeared.

She is survived by sons, John F. II and his wife Dianne of Trooper, Daniel M. and his wife Anne of Lebanon, and Philip R. of Macungie; daughter, Teresa A. of Alexandria, Va.; brothers, John and his wife Barbara of Saddle River, N.J., and James Murray and his wife Kitty of Monroe, N.Y.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son-in-law, Harry F. Klein.

A memorial Mass will be held 10:30 a.m. May 7 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1040 Flexer Ave., Allentown. Calling hours will be held 9 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Arrangements were made by the J.S. Burkholder Funeral Home, Allentown.
