The food at Fellowship Community was nothing like the spaghetti and meatball dinners served up at church social halls or fire companies in the region.

Held in Fellowship Room – a spacious hall with chandeliers and large windows – diners April 13 were provided with an ambience not typically associated with a public dinner fundraiser event.

As their names were called, diners entered the room to the sound of a harp played by Allison Simon. A grouping of small, red, green and white Italian flags added color to the program.

Vases filled with red roses and white baby's breath accented large round tables with white linen with red tablecloths.

The formal setting was not lost on the servers. Several teenagers attired in black slacks, white tops and black bow ties, served the salad, spaghetti and meatballs. The teens, from the youth group at Bethel Fellowship Church, Emmaus, annually fill such roles.

Diners were told proceeds will go toward the purchase of a food equipment storage shed at the Fellowship Memorial Park and pavilion and for two anatomy mannequins to assist in CPR training for the Fellowship staff.

Located off Rural Road in Whitehall, Fellowship Community offers assisted living. short term and skilled nursing care and independent living for seniors.
