David A. Newhard, 74, of Whitehall, died April 16, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Linda R. (Lifland) Newhard for 46 years.

Born in Coplay, he was the son of the late Edwin M. and Dorothy K. (Trankley) Newhard.

He was a draftsman for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Bethlehem.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, David II of Whitehall and Christopher of New York City;and a daughter, Jamie of St. Louis, Mo.

He was predeceased by two brothers, George and James Newhard.
