John "Jack" V. Parvel, 87, of Allentown, died April 13, 2013, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown. He was the husband of Eleanor S. (Busovne) Parvel for 58 years.

Born in Coplay, he was a son o f the late Nicholas J. Sr. and Margaret B. (Dugan) Parvel.

He was both a World War II Navy and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He was a mail handler for the U.S. Postal Service, Lehigh Valley.

He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Allentown.

He was a life member and former board member of the Fearless Fire Company, Allentown.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John V. Jr. and his wife Marianne of East Allen Township; a daughter, Suzanne and her husband Jeffrey Kahr of Allentown; three granddaughters, Jennifer and her husband Keith Adams, Kimberly and her husband Fran Evans and Sara Kahr; and a great-granddaughter, Cadence Adams.
