Melvin F. Bartholomew, 79, of Catasauqua, died March 22, 2013, in St. Luke's Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the husband of Shirley A. (Steiner) Bartholomew.
Born in Barto, he was a son of the late Fred O. and Rachel (Grimm) Bartholomew.
He was in the U.S Navy during the Korean War.
He was a cement plasterer for Duggan and Marcon / Eason Exterior Wall Systems for many years until he retired in 1990.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 215, Catasauqua.
He is survived by a son, Mark and his wife Marissa of North Catasauqua; a grandson, Braden Bartholomew of North Catasauqua; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law Walter and Terri Panik of Boulder, Colo.; and a niece, Ashley Panik of Phoenix, Ariz.
