Dorothy S. Kimak

Dorothy S. Kimak, 82, died March 20, 2013, in St. Petersburg, Fla., where she resided for the past 17 years. She was the wife of Edward F. Kimak for 61 years.

A native of Northampton, she was a daughter of Paul and Mary (Gancaz) Smolick.

She was a 1948 graduate of Northampton High School.

She worked for Bell Labs (Western Electric) and at the Allen Township Municipal Building.

She was a member of the former St. Michael's Catholic Church, Northampton, and the choir and of the Rosary Society. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, St. Petersburg, Fla.

She originated and was the first president of the Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxillary Council 528. She was a member of the Ladies Red Hat Society of St. Petersburg, Fla.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Stephanie and her husband Gary Borger of Northampton and Mary Ann and her husband Theodore Pitts of Lehighton; two sons, Matthew of New York and Edward P. and his wife Lois of Northampton; a daughter, Paula Sheehan of Largo, Fla; 10 grandchildren, Faun, Benjamin, Timothy, Leah, Tyler, Thaddeus, Marcus, Rachel, Emily and Jack; six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Nicole, Anthony, Allison, Paityn and Harper; and two sisters, Mildred Emerick of Northampton and Gloria Smolick of St. Petersburg, Fla.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan Hartman; a grandson, Edward A.; and two brothers, John and George.
