John (Jack) J. Mescavage Jr., 74, of Northampton, lost a battle with pulmonary fibrosis on March 12, 2013. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Betsy) Mescavage for 47 years.

Born in Shenandoah, he was a son of the late John J. Mescavage Sr. and Elizabeth A. (Czerkan) Mescavage.

He was in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962 and attended the naval electrical school, Great Lakes, Mich. He served aboard the U.S.S. Newport News.

He worked in the electrical construction trade for 34 years.

He was a member of Assumption of Blessed Virgin Mary Roman Catholic Church, Northampton.

He was a member of IBEW local 375, Allentown. He was a member of the Willowbrook Duffers Golf League, Catasauqua, and of the Northampton Recreation Center.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Gary and wife Meg and their three daughters, Abigail, Hannah, and Rebekah; a daughter Lisa Mescavage Frick and her husband and her son, Brad; a brother, Robert and wife Marie; a sister, Justine and her husband Robert Gunoskey and a sister, Barbara and her husband Joseph Salvadore.

A celebration of life memorial service will be held at a future date, to be announced.
