David A. Rector, 95, of Whitehall, died March 2, 2013, at home. He was the husband of Miriam "Mim" (McCloskey) Rector for more than 68 years.
Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late James and Lillia (Metzger) Rector.
He was a welder on the rigger gang at the former Bethlehem Steel for more than 38 years, retiring in 1974. While there, he was one of the first shop stewards.
He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Fullerton.
He was a member of the Coplay Senior Citizens and the Whitehall AARP. He was a past president of the Northampton Area Retired Men.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Beverly and her husband Thomas Bohner Jr. of Allentown; a grandson, Thomas III and his wife Andrea Bohner of Whitehall; and two great-grandsons, David Bohner and Michael and his wife Katherine Bohner, all of Whitehall.
He was predeceased by a sister, Sarah Hess.
