Joseph Maslany, 87, of Sewell, N.J., and formerly of Catasauqua, died Feb. 20, 2013, at Cardinal Village Retirement Community, Sewell, N.J. He was the husband of the late Jeanette I. (Bartholomew).

Born in Northampton, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Petrosky) Maslany.

He was a Merchant Marine during World War II.

He was a sheet metal fabricator for the former Bethlehem Steel Corporation, Homer Research Lab, for 30 years before retiring in 1985.

He was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Northampton.

He was also a member of the former Northampton Senior Mens Club and its dart league for many years.

He is survived by a daughter, Lynn D. and her husband Joseph Jordan of Williamstown, N.J.; a son, Joseph M. and his wife Jean of Catasauqua; four grandchildren, Erin, Michael, Meghan and Cory; and three great-grandchildren.
