Raymond Bottazzi

Raymond "Ray" Bottazzi, 88, of Catasauqua, Whitehall Manor and Traditions of Hanover, died Jan. 29, 2013. He was the husband of the late Anna Mae (Hopkins) Bottazzi for 48 years.

Born in Northampton, Mass., he was a son of the late Carmine and Assunta (Pignatello) Bottazzi.

He was in the U.S. Army during World War II with the 12th Fighter Squadron in the South Pacific. He was awarded five Bronze Stars for bravery.

He worked for Mack Truck for many years on the line and in the maintenance department of 5C until he retired.

He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Hokendauqua.

He was a life member of the former Italian Club of Allentown, the Charotin Fire Company, and the Belmont bowling and golf leagues.

He is survived by two nieces, Rosemary B. and her husband Bill Eibach and Judy Braniff; two nephews, Michael and his wife Ellen Bottazzi and Jerome Bottazzi; two sisters-in-law, Jeanette and Rose Bottazzi; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews; and friend and caregiver, Nancy Riker.

He was predeceased by three brothers, Aldo, Alvin "Tinker" and Joseph Bottazzi.
