Valeria M. Koons, 102, died Jan. 19, 2013. She was the wife of the late Paul Koons.

Born in Coplay, she was a daughter of the late John and Vladislava (Aleksa) Staversky.

She worked in various silk and ribbon mills for many years.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church, North Catasauqua.

She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn and her husband Nicklas Pontician of North Catasauqua; a sister, Julia Superka of Coplay; nieces; nephews; great-nieces; great- nephews; great-great nieces; and great-great-nephews.
